Leggings are a huge trend nowadays. No matter where you go, you are bound to run into someone sporting a pair of leggings. I know I wear my fair share of them, like here and here and here. Okay, enough with the "here". You get my drift.
You can incorporate them in so many ways into your outfit and wardrobe. The only thing I gotta warn you is to just make sure you actually wear them in a way that doesn't make you look like you aren't wearing pants! That's a huge drawback to these comfy articles of clothing. Today I have a guest post sharing a few ways to dress up your favorite leggings!

How to Dress Up
Your Leggings
Leggings often get a bad rap for being an excuse
for women not to wear actual pants but with the rise of athleisure and
sportswear brands working on creating some incredible pieces, these days,
leggings can really look amazing dressed up for a night on the town or worn by
day for work.
There are a number of ways you can dress up your
leggings and the following are a few of the best tips to help you do so.
Add leather
A leather jacket makes
anything look edgier. The next time you want to pair a jacket with your leggings go for a
leather jacket — maybe a cropped colored piece or a classic black jacket. Put
on a simple T shirt underneath and you will have created an understated cool
look.
Off the shoulder
When you want to channel pretty vibes with your
leggings, pair them with dresses that are a bit shorter like midi skirts type
of dresses with a looser contrast with the tight leggings. You can go wild with
the material of your choice — denim, floral patterns or linen will all help you
to create a pretty look.
Put on a blouse
Bringing the comfort of a
pair of leggings on a work day is something most of us want. The best way to do
this is by finding leggings in a faux leather material so that it looks more
elegant. Pair the leggings with a classic blouse with a bow or a button up
shirt for a look that is professional and seriously comfortable.
Go for asymmetry
For a sleek day look, try wearing your leggings
with an asymmetric piece — like a vest or a shirt in a rich material like silk
or lace to elevate your day look from simple to elegant.
Mesh it up
For a daring look, try pairing your leggings with a
sheer mesh top. Find the perfect bralette to wear underneath that complements
the color of the mesh top for an effortlessly sexy look.
Go for lingerie
Work the lingerie trend into your love for
leggings by wearing the latter with a great camisole piece. Find one that is
not too tight and go for a piece that is a bit long so that you can channel
soft, bedroom vibes without looking vulgar or looking half dressed.

Find the right shoes
The shoes you wear with your leggings will
determine the tone of your whole outfit. Classic white sneakers go well with
leggings but if you want to dress up your leggings then pretty lace up ballet
pumps or a classic heel will help you take your look from casual to more
elegant.

Leggings are definitely the versatile piece that everyone needs in their closets! While I agree that leggings aren't pants (not a big fan of the cooch or the booty hanging out), there are so many ways to wear them to make them look chic and classy, while still being appropriate for work, etc.
