Hey everyone!

If there's one thing in my wardrobe that I can always count on when the weather gets hot are these grey shorts. They are so versatile and comfortable. I've had them for the longest time ever. Just for the sake of this post, I thought back to when I actually bought them. I think it was five years ago. And they still fit the same, and are in great condition. I remember it was five years ago because I had taken a mirror selfie of them to send to my friend for her input using my old phone's really low-quality camera.

Well, here they are five years later and I'm still loving them. Guess that purchase really was worth it. It's not my oldest piece of clothing that I still love, but five years is still remarkable.

What's one of the oldest pieces in your wardrobe that you still love to wear to this day?

Similar Shorts

I also been styling my hair like this a lot lately. I've shown it briefly in the past in an older post, and on Instagram. (If you don't follow me already, what are you doing?) It's a super simple style, with two twist braids on either side of my head joining together at the back, creating an easy half-up do. I love doing these twist braids because the soft poofs on either side are easy to fluff up and add volume. Paired with wavy hair it adds a slight bohemian flair, while with straight hair it looks nice and polished. You can pull the rest of your hair back into a low ponytail that looks messy and edgy, like I've shown before as well. It's really such an easy go-to that I've been really loving so much when I can't be bothered to do actual intricate braids and styles.

Just like this go-to hairstyle, my grey shorts are something I always find myself wearing every now and then. They have been worn and loved for years, and hopefully for years to come. I'm on the lookout for more shorts that have this sort of tie-front belt as well. I never realized how much I loved the belted part until I really thought about what it was about these shorts that add so much flair compared to others.

Hey everyone!

Every once in awhile, there are those wonderful weekends where my friends' and my own schedules align and we get the chance to go out. On spur of the moment occasions, I prefer to dress like I do on the daily, meaning a bit more casual and laid-back. But when it comes to going out, whether it be to celebrate or just for the heck of it, we like to get a bit dressy. This look I am sharing with you today is perfect for those occasions: dressy and falling slightly on the formal side, but casual enough to not look like you are crashing a school prom.

This was created in collaboration with one of my fellow blogger friends, Emily. We really wanted to both create a look that we tend to lean towards when it comes to a night out. Her resulting look is very girly and romantic, whereas mine leaned more on the edgy, street side not completely formal. We wanted to provide you all with some inspiration. As prom season is here for those of you in high school, the hair and makeup we chose to go along with our looks could potentially inspire you. Or perhaps it is the color dresses we chose. Either way, it's nice to get dressed up every once in awhile.

For my makeup here, I used the Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette to create the softly smokey eye look. I also added highlight from the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl highlight. I finished it off with a nude lip. After taking all these photos and looking back, I think that a dark and dramatic lip would work as well. What do you think?

Of course I wouldn't recommend you to wear this to prom or some other fancy formal event as such. But, I do think that this look would be perfect for a night out. Worn with the right attitude and it will work. Either way, I hope this provided some inspiration for you, and how to style your hair and makeup based on the cut, color, and print of your dress and such.

Hey everyone!

The Lip Product Tag has been circulating for awhile now, and I got tagged awhile back. I'm finally getting around to doing it! The lovely Kay from shoesandglitter had kindly tagged me eons ago. And I deeply apologize that I haven't gotten around to it until now. Do me a favor, and go check out her blog. She is amazing, and her posts are a great read! I love reading about her reviews on perfumes in particular because I admit I know nearly nothing about perfumes, while she is pretty much an expert.

Quick update on my life. Spring is finally here. The weather is getting warmer out. The sun is shining (on the rare days when it isn't storming out because Seattle likes to constantly rain). Best of all, I am on break! Only for a week, but it is still better than nothing. After a hectic, stressful quarter, nothing feels better than to be able to lie around at home guilt-free.

Remember how I was worried about my finals? Yeah, there was more to the story than that. As I've mentioned before, I was taking a ceramics class, art history, and nutrition. However, it was the ceramics class that caused the most stress for me. I am an art major, but I also thought that ceramics would be a nice, relaxing class I could take that would require little brainwork. I was way off. Ceramics is a fickle medium to work with; the many complicated projects we were assigned left me staying really late many nights, and constantly worried about the state of my clay. Luckily, I had some previous experience working with clay because I took some classes back in high school. But, it was still a struggle.

I feel like a lot of times, professors don't realize that as college students, we have other things going on in our lives besides their one class. Add onto that my desire to seek perfection, and you can see why I was so stressed out. For our final project, we had to create a work to perform a ritual that involves three or more people. I came up with a great idea. I had it all down and nearly finished, when it broke. Not just a few minor cracks here and there. No. It was broken to the point where I just had to restart. Once I had FINALLY finished redoing 30 hours of meticulous work, it broke again. But in a different spot. I literally felt so frustrated, I was tempted to just throw it all out a third-story window and break down in tears. That last part (the crying) did happen... But I did manage to salvage what I had in the end! Thank the lord, or else I would have reconsidered my choice in major, which would lead to me rethinking going to college, and then contemplating becoming a hermit who never leaves her parents' house. Ever. Am I exaggerating? No... Maybe.. Okay fine yes. But if you were in my position, you would have felt the same!

Other than that, my finals went well! I aced my other tests. I'm now happily enjoying break knowing that the quarter was stressful, but worth it. Relaxing is nice, but it feels weird to not have something to worry about. Stress can be kind of addicting. Or is that just me?

Anyways, onto the Lip Product Tag! (Man, it feels really nice to be talking about a topic as such, rather than frantically reading articles about drip painting, Cage's obsession on the excellence of everyday life, Greenberg's theories on medium specificity, and other complicated topics.) Hey everyone!

I am such a typical girl. I love to fantasize about my future wedding: how it will be decorated, where it will take place, and most importantly, what I will wear. Of course, I am no where NEAR getting married. (Firstly, you gotta find yourself a man, someone you are willing to tie yourself down with for the rest of your life. That's a heavy task, my friend). But that won't stop me from perusing the internet for inspiration to add to my ever-increasing list of what I want at my wedding. Remember that movie, The Wedding Planner? That's pretty much me.

If any of you out there need some great inspiration for your wedding dress, here are my top picks. Feel free to just sit around at home drinking cheap wine in a wedding dress too. Don't worry. No one will judge. If Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe could do it in Friends, why can't you? The perfect wedding dress can have the power to make you feel like a million bucks, and there's never anything wrong with wanting to look like you came straight from the cover of a bridal magazine.

The following are all from a wonderful site called Cocomelody. They offer such a great selection of wedding dresses. You should definitely check them out!

One

I love this wedding dress. There is just something so beautiful about the sheer panel. I like how it has a high neckline, but the fact that there is a sheer panel makes it less modest and more subtly sexy. High necklines are so flattering because they highlight your collarbone, but not in an overt way. This is one of the beach wedding dresses Cocomelody has to offer.

Three

This is another one of my favorites because of the swirling leaf and flower design. I like how it is more on the nature, bohemian side. It will look so beautiful for an outside wedding, one near lots of trees and stuff. Is it called an orchard? Something like that. You get what I'm trying to describe.

This is one of their 2016 wedding dresses. I would love to wear something like this at my own wedding someday. The sheer panel plus the leaves and flowers have definitely caught my eye!

Last but not least, this dress is one of favorites as well from their 2016 wedding dress collection. There are also flowers in the design, and I really love how it also adds a bohemian flair to it too. The sweetheart neckline is so gorgeous and flattering; I am a sucker for a great sweetheart neckline. The drape of it also is very slimming and highlights curves in a beautiful way. I just adore how elegant it looks.

Hey everyone!

I wanted to start off by saying thank you to everyone for your sweet comments in my last post. I've been feeling a little down lately, since the new year has started. Blaming it on the post-holiday blues. But I'm feeling better. I know things will get better. We all have those ups and downs. That's normal for us all. And I really wanted to thank you for your kind words and all. Hope you guys are all doing well, too.

Anyways, today I wanted to share with you some stuff on my current wishlist.

Even though the holidays are long over and the new year has started, I'm still in that shopping mode. Yes, I received wonderful gifts, but I still find myself browsing the internet finding things I desperately want to buy. One of my goals this year is to save my money, but that's going to be sort of difficult if I keep tempting myself with online shopping, huh?

Here is my wishlist from Banggood.com, an online shopping site that has a vast collection of stuff that I guarantee will tempt you as well.

1-Lizard Ear Clip Earring

I think that this earring would be such a cool thing to wear. It's definitely super edgy, and I have no idea if I could pull that off. But it's still really nice and different.

2-Cross body Bag

This is the kind of bag I've been searching for awhile now. I love how classic and simple the design is. It's something that can go with pretty much every outfit, and become essential in your wardrobe.

3-Wool Coat

I usually go for black coats, but I really like how this looks in gray. The asymmetrical design makes it even more unique and different as well. I really like how the random folds and the zipper adds to the overall look.

4-Lace up Shoes

These shoes have been springing up everywhere the past year. I really like the lace up detail, it gives the look a boho vibe, which I like. It's perfect for spring.

5-Heeled Boots

I really like this color for the boots. These are such a simple style, ones that can be worn for a lot of different occasions. The tan-brown color also makes it more of a statement than plain black ones would.

6-Gloves

These gloves are so adorable! I love the bows on them. They add something girly to an otherwise edgy yet plain design. I love leather gloves, and the bows just makes me want them more.

7-Cardigan

The intricate pattern and drape of this cardigan is so different from what I already have. I like how it will seamlessly fit into my current wardrobe, yet it is such a statement in itself.

8-Scarf

I love blanket scarves. I love to wear huge scarves with all my outfits. This scarf will definitely be a great addition to my current collection.

9-Ring

I have an obsession with rings. I really love the leaf design here, and the way it wraps around your finger. It's so pretty, and will be a perfect statement piece.

10-Turtleneck Coat

I usually like to go for neutral colors when I choose coats. However, this burgundy color just caught my eye. Again, the asymmetrical design makes it unique, and I just really like the overall style.

11-Dress

This dress has also been popping up everywhere lately. It's something that can easily be thrown on, yet looks very put together and nice. I like the buttons on the side. This is something I can definitely see myself wearing. Maybe with that burgundy coat too?

12-Boots

These black boots are soooo beautiful! I love the chunky heel and the platform. The overall style is so basic, yet unique in itself. I really love the look of it. I can always go for another pair of heeled boots because I love wearing heels. And the two-toned style makes it different from what I already got.

Definitely check out this site, there are so many awesome things you can find. And the prices are all pretty reasonable and affordable as well. I'm kind of looking for some excuses right now to do some shopping, perhaps to treat myself for surviving the first week of winter quarter back at school? Is that reason enough?

Hey everyone!

Huge apologies for being absent the past several days! I was spending time with family and friends for the holidays. Christmas for me is typically spent at my aunt's house in Canada. Because of that, my parents, my sister, and I would stay at my grandmother's house, which is nearby, for a week or so for the holidays. My grandmother's house doesn't have any Wifi, making it difficult for me to have access to the outside world during my stay. I don't have phone service in Canada either because I'm not about to pay extra, as my phone plan doesn't extend internationally. I'd rather save my money for more important things, like Adele concert tickets (which by the way are SOOO EXPENSIVE!!), and mooch off Wifi from the nearest Tim Horton's instead.

How did you spend the holidays?

Speaking of.. (that segue there though) I wanted to end the year off by writing about my newest music obsession. 25 by Adele. The "one and only" Adele. See what I did there? Yeah, all you Adele fans get me. I've been obsessed with Adele since forever. My favorite thing to do isn't to Netflix and Chill. No. I like to Adele and Cry. And Adele and Eat. And Adele and Sleep. And Adele and Try-To-Study-But-Not-Really. And Adele and *Insert any and every activity ever*. Because that's how obsessed I am with her music.

Prior to November 20th, the release of her newest album, I prepped myself by listening to all her past albums and singles on repeat. Continuously. Nonstop. Day and night, and night and day. When the long-awaited day finally came, I was without a doubt, FREAKING OUT!! I was so excited, it was all I could talk about.

I literally kept annoying everyone by telling people how I've been waiting 3 years for her to release new music, and how pissed I was that 25 wasn't on Spotify. I desperately wanted the album, and was planning on purchasing it as soon as possible. However, a surprise was waiting for me back home. My parents had gone and purchased me the album as part of an early Christmas present. That made my day. Ever since, that album has been playing on loop all holiday season long. Other than the holiday music playing on the radio in my car and at work, Adele's been the soundtrack of my life for the past couple months. While Elle King's Love Stuff marked my summer, it's been an Adele winter for me.



Seriously guys, if you haven't listened yet, DO IT NOW! She's absolutely amazing. The long wait was worth it in my opinion. I'm pretty sure a lot of you have listened to "Hello" by now, as that single was what spurred that whole Adele-craze that happened because of her finally releasing a new album. There's no better feeling than to wake up with your new favorite song stuck in your head, and staying that way for the entire day. It actually kept a smile plastered on my face all day long, I bet I looked like a freak.


Whilst going about my Adele craze, I stumbled upon a video where Ellen takes "Hello" and creates a hilarious sketch with it. Check it out! I just had to share something as amusing and entertaining as this with you guys.

They are all so amazing. Those are just a few of my favorites, but I do love them all. These are the songs that sends tingles down my spine, and waves of emotions over me. Her voice is so powerful and conveys such great, deep emotion. The whole album just really speak to me, and I can't stop listening.

Which ones do you guys like from this album?

Adele's music is what got me through some rough years of high school. As I rode the roller-coaster of life, Adele's music was the soundtrack playing alongside. Each and every song holds great meaning to me. You know when you listen to a certain song enough during an eventful time that when you listen to it later on, it conjures up memories of that moment? That's basically how it is for me.

Thus, why I chose to end the year off rambling about my love for Adele's music and her newest album. Music has the ability to hold such significant, yet different meaning to each person. It is so personal and universal at the same time. Something that we can use to break the ice. Something to fight over, or bond over. Similarly, 2015 means something different to each and every person. We all experienced unique things that changed us, for better or for worse. 2015 holds its own special significance that can't be changed, and things will forever be marked as "2015".

2015 has been a wonderful year for me. There were its share of ups and downs, but looking back overall, I am thankful for everything that has happened. I've made new friends, and reconnected with old ones. I started my first job. I finished my first year of university with wonderful grades. I was able to further improve and expand my skills in sewing. Most importantly, I found the motivation and inspiration to blog again. Life has its way of running its course; despite the fear, stress, happiness, depression we all undergo, in the end I believe that things happen for a reason. We make things happen for a reason.

I really hope you guys had a wonderful holidays, and I wish you all a happy new year. Let's make 2016 just as, if not more memorable. Check out the fashion resolutions I posted awhile ago, where I discuss some other desires I have for the coming year.
