Elle King's Love Stuff on Spotify

Hey everyone!

Every once in awhile, I get into these music obsessions where I listen exclusively to a certain artist. I don't know about you, but there are times when I will get really into it and would obsessively listen to them for a period of time. Currently, for me it is Elle King's Love Stuff.

I'm sure many of you have not heard of her, but if you have, cookie for you. Or perhaps cake or ice cream if that's what you'd rather want. Or low-fat low sugar paleo gluten-free vegan if that's the way you roll. I'm kidding. Don't hate, I'm only making a joke. I got diet issues myself. Anyways, she's an amazing singer, and I really love the rock with a bit of soul she delivers in her music. She only has one album and an EP along with a few other singles out, but you should definitely consider checking them out!

I am this obsessed with the album. I have it playing on my phone AND my computer.

I first heard of her from Allie Marie Evans' February Favorites video. Allie Marie Evans, by the way, is one of my frequently watched favorite YouTubers because of her groundedness, honesty, creativity, and overall personality. And is it just me or does she remind you of Emily VanCamp, the actress who portrayed Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke in ABC's Revenge? Because she really looks like her in my opinion.

Allie described Elle King's voice and music style as being similar to that of Adele's, but in a "slightly edgier" sort of way. This is what initially caught my attention, as I am a fan of Adele's music. Because of that, I was drawn to it and I found some of Elle's songs on YouTube and Spotify and immediately fell in love with her songs.

That happened a long time ago, like months ago. A short while ago, however, I was browsing one of Madilyn Bailey's Spotify playlists, and I found a few of Elle King's songs on there. Madilyn Bailey, for those of you out there who do not know this, is one of my favorite singers from YouTube (yes I am a huge YouTube person haha). And to find that one of my favorite people likes listening to one of my favorite singers?? I fangirl a lot.

Recently, I also heard Elle King's song Ex's and Oh's in the intro of one of Aspyn Ovard's videos. Because many people I know don't really listen to Elle King, this just really caught my attention and made me feel super happy inside. Do you guys ever get that feeling where you hear one of your favorite songs in a TV show, or a movie, and you get super happy because that song isn't really popular, yet it is featured in something that is? Or, when someone who isn't too well known, yet is super talented, finally attains success in the mainstream world? I start feeling so proud of them because I had followed them from the beginning. Like a proud mama. Getting all teary-eyed and stuff. Except, they usually are older than me, so that analogy doesn't make all that much sense. Yeah, I get weird and crazy like that.

My favorite everyday moisturizer

Hey everyone!

Moisturizers. We all use them. We all need them. With the daily use comes the tendency to gravitate towards one specific one. My current favorite is the Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. I love this moisturizer. In fact, I use and love many Aveeno products.

And no, I am not sponsored by them or anything. I am not as amazing as Jennifer Aniston. Though I wish I was. Then I could have been in the cast of Friends. 

Anyways, I first started using this a long time ago. Like years ago. I have always used Aveeno products growing up, but I started using this particular one back in the 6th grade. And I am currently in university, and I still use this product. It is definitely a holy grail for me.

I used to purchase this at Target because Target is awesome, but recently I've noticed that Target stopped carrying this product! I literally went to several different Target's trying to look for it. One day, I was makeup shopping at Ulta and I found it. I was super happy because I was so worried about having to find a new moisturizer to use. Looking back now, I realize I could have gone to other drugstores like Walgreens or Rite Aid. But sometimes it is just easier to purchase products at stores you frequent at because it is easier to find things there, you know what I mean?

The formula is so smooth and creamy when applying.

At  first when you apply it, it looks sort of white. But once you rub it in, it makes your skin very moisturized, smooth, and soft.

I love the soft sheer effect it gives my skin. There's nothing really special in it, like in terms of tint or coverage, but it does make my skin look nice and radiant.

Yes, you read that right. Like my outfit of the day?

I was browsing Urban Outfitters with my friend the other day and we came across this section that had animal mask heads. Of course, us being us, we just had to touch them and try em on.

The slate gray faux-leather jacket really compliments that shiny black beak, wouldn't you agree? My pink and black polka-dot top has been in my closet forever, but I love the top because it can go well with a lot of my clothes. I really like versatile items, such as leather jackets, solid colored skirts, scarves, etc. I'm very minimalistic like that, yet my style isn't entirely too plain.

It was my birthday the other day and after class, my friend and I were going to grab lunch at this Thai place nearby. However, we didn't think to check beforehand what time it would open. We ended up having to wait for over an hour. Thai Tom opens at 11:30 am, and our class ended at 10:20 am. Because of that, we just decided to walk around and browse some of the nearby shops.

I wonder how her dog, who happens to be a german shepherd as well, would react to that mask.

After a long time perusing through various stores, the Thai places finally opened. It was definitely worth the wait! We joined the handful of people already lined up outside of the restaurant and waited to get a seat. When my friend told me this place would be crowded, she wasn't kidding. It was super cramped inside, and dark as well. The seats were placed close together, and there were only a couple two-person tables set up along with a few bar stools. The entire set up made it resemble some sort of street corner food-stand in Asia.

I wanted to try something different because I haven't really had Thai before. But, me being super unadventurous, I ended up ordering tofu pad thai, which is what I usually order for Thai food. I really want to try new foods, but I get worried about not liking it. I usually end up ordering the safest things, for fear of not liking the foods, waste of money, and allergies. Lemme know in the comments if there's any Thai food I should give a try, and I will put it on my To Do list!

Hey everyone!

Free things. Yes, this post is about freebies. Except, it's more about what the freebies really mean.

I am a university student. For those of you out there who also attend university, or college, (or whatever you happen to call the academic institution that sucks out money from your pocket like a hungry vacuum) you all understand what I mean when I say that procuring an education really takes a toll on your wallet. University costs so much money, and I find great joy in constantly reminding everyone about this fact.

So, school started fairly recently for me. And the other day, they were having some kind of fair thing going on. There were booths set up where people could sign up for things such as clubs. With that, there were a few booths here and there that gave out free food and drinks.

I personally feel like it's all to bribe us. To make us feel better about all the money that we use for school.

Everyone is in line. We don't want to miss out on free food. Best way to bribe college kids is to give out free things. The edible kind.

In all honesty, I do enjoy these kind of fair things. I think that they bring some kind of spirit to campus. I mean, sure it's all a huge bribe and meant to get us to sign up for more stuff, but still, I like free things.

There was this one station set up right in front of the library where people could strap onto this machine thing and jump on a trampoline, doing flips and other cool tricks. I didn't go on because of fear of heights and all. Plus, it would be too much attention and pressure. However, it was still pretty cool to see.

I felt awkward taking these pictures. People probably thought I was weird. Oh well. I am weird. I embrace it.

This is what I got. I actually took all of five minutes to stand in line for this stuff, when I could have been watching Netflix in the library instead.

So anyways, this post doesn't really have a huge point to make. I just wanted to point out how much money universities take from our pockets, and how just a few freebies made a world of difference. It's crazy how crazy people can get over free things. Free things they probably didn't want in the first place. Once you put the word free in front of something, it's like instantly a desire to obtain it overcomes you. Free. That's a pretty powerful word.
