Favorite (Healthy) Starbucks Drink: Chai Tea Misto with Coconut Milk
9:44 AM
Hey everyone!
All us Starbucks lovers got our own special order, whether it is simple or super long and complicated. My current favorite drink is a chai tea misto made with coconut milk. As a Starbucks barista, I have started to develop a special drink on the complicated side. It's hard not to have a specific taste once you know what you are actually making and what all the options are.
Working at Starbucks got it's perks like getting free drinks. And hey, I gotta take advantage of that, right? I usually order a big huge venti size of my usual, and have three tea bags because I love it stronger than usual. Venti teas usually get two tea bags as standard, but I like the strong tea flavor. I like letting it steep longer as well. I also prefer having the tea bags over the chai sauce because I find that the bags add a flavor that is deeper. Plus, there is less sugar and preservatives in it. I like to try and stay as healthy as I can while indulging in good food that still satisfies me. This drink definitely hits the spot.
For all you out there who love Starbucks, but want drinks with less calories, less sugar, less artificial ingredients, this is a great option! It is a great alternative to those chai lattes that everyone has a love/hate relationship with. As in love to drink, hate to burn off. It's gluten free, dairy free, and delicious.

Okay, okay, fine. Maybe it isn't that juicy of a secret, but yeah. I love cinnamon. Got it? Got it.
I know chai already has a spicy, sweet taste to it, but I'm crazy and I like to pile on more cinnamon. My manager actually made this drink for me. I asked her to steam the coconut milk with cinnamon, which I have never tried before. Damn, that was the best idea I ever had because it tasted SO good! Plus, my sweet tooth was acting up so I wanted a light drizzle of caramel on top as well.
This is the perfect drink to have on a blustery, cold day. And hey, you know what food would go perfectly with it? My Flourless Chewy Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies , which just so happens to also be a Starbucks copy. So, you could go and buy a cookie as well. Or you can make your own and have dozens all to yourself. Halloween may be over, but who said you need an actual reason to indulge in sweets? Just justify it as being a treat for yourself for studying so hard, and for making it this far in the school year. Yeah, that works for me.
Sorry it was a short post! I wanted to just share with you all something quick that could help you get through midterms season. I just had my midterms and they were pretty killer, considering how it took up Halloween weekend. Hope everything is going well with you all!
Give this drink a try and lemme know what you think!
Have a wonderful day, and thanks for reading!
Til next time,

Awww, that's too bad. Starbucks has some pretty awesome drinks. And yes definitely! It is super easy to make. The only thing you gotta make sure you have is a milk frother to make some good foam.
DeleteThis combination sounds amazing! I'm so jealous that you guys have coconut milk at Starbucks in the US haha!

The added cinnamon in the steamed coconut milk makes a world of difference! It really takes it to the next level! Yeah, I think it's definitely doable at home. You don't have to, but using a milk frother at home would be even better so you can create some good micro-foam for the drink.
